Our mission: “Giving a voice to God!”
The Founders: Canon Louis Cergneux and Mother Marie Siedler
Since 1905, the Saint-Augustin mission has been accompanying believers in their spiritual journey and community life.
Founded in Saint-Maurice (Valais) by Canon Louis Cergneux and Mother Marie Sidler, this institution was born from the desire to respond to a world in rapid transformation. From the very beginning, Saint-Augustin set itself the mission of spreading the Word of God and strengthening the bond between believers in an era marked by growing secularization.
Today, faithful to this heritage, the society continues to “give a voice to God” through its bookstores (in Switzerland, Africa, and France), parish bulletins, and Catholic publications. While honoring its roots, the institution also embraces contemporary challenges by integrating digital technologies to bring faith communities closer together. It is in this spirit that the MyChurch project was created: a response to the growing needs for inclusion, intercultural exchange, and dialogue within the Swiss Church.
