This year, the pilgrimage to Einsiedeln brought together 1,700 faithful from all over Switzerland, for a journey of faith, prayer, and fraternity. This spiritual experience was strengthened thanks to the MyChurch platform, which accompanied pilgrims throughout their journey.
A connected presence, yet focused on what matters
From the moment of registration, pilgrims could access a dedicated space on the MyChurch app. It contained practical information, schedules, hymns, and prayer intentions. But much more too: daily spiritual messages, Bible passages for meditation, preparation videos, and even group sharing — all directly within the app.
During the pilgrimage, MyChurch played a discreet but essential role. Each day, organizers published summaries, testimonies, photos, or intentions. Participants could comment, react, and feel connected to one another — even if they were not walking side by side.
A communion beyond place and time
Back home, pilgrims could relive the experience through the digital archive of the pilgrimage: texts, photos, homilies, and shared reflections. A precious extension that allows everyone to keep a record and continue meditating on what they experienced.
This pilot project was praised by pastoral leaders and pilgrims alike, for its ease of use and its capacity to create connections — even at a distance. It shows that when used well, digital tools can support faith and strengthen community.
MyChurch is set to become a natural companion for the great milestones of Christian life. After Lourdes, Einsiedeln marks a new step in this vision: a Church that is alive, connected, on the move — and always focused on the essential.
